Does SNAAP stand for something?
Sustainable, Non-Stop, Autonomous, Affordable, Personal transportation.

What is SNAAP?
SNAAP is a new type of personal transportation that consists of a network of Ribbonways and individual SNAAP Pods connecting people, places, and things.

What is the Ribbonway?
The Ribbonway is an ultra-lightweight guideway SNAAP Pods use to travel between locations. The Ribbonway can be on-grade or elevated and can integrate into existing transportation corridors or traverse through greenways without disrupting the landscape.

Is SNAAP Transportation a kind of light rail system?
No. SNAAP is bringing a new type of transportation to the market. We want to give city transportation planners another option besides buses, bike lanes, and light rail. An option that is not mass transit, but is as convenient as cars. SNAAP Transportation best fits into the categories of Transportation as a Service (TaaS), Personal Rapid Transit (PRT), and Automated Transit Network (ATN).

Is SNAAP trying to replace cars?
No. We love cars! But we are tired of traffic that makes driving such a headache. We want to give commuters an alternative so they don’t have to drive their cars to work and the airport. We want to unclog the roads to make driving fun again.

Does SNAAP offer multi-person SNAAP Pods?
Yes! But SNAAP is primarily focused on reducing the number of single-occupant vehicles on the roads. Over 80% of all cars have only one occupant. Our single-passenger Pod will have the biggest impact on reducing traffic. A 2-passenger Pod will also be available.

How does SNAAP keep me safe from COVID-19 or other infectious diseases?
SNAAP Pods are personal, no face masks or social distancing required! In addition, surfaces in each Pod are automatically sanitized between trips and the HVAC system uses ultraviolet light to clean the air continuously.

How long do I have to wait for a SNAAP Pod to arrive?
SNAAP Pods are continuously available at Public portals. Think of an escalator. Pedestrians continuously flow onto newly arrived steps of an escalator without having to queue, load, and depart as a group. Similarly, newly arrived SNAAP Pods are continually available. Crowded subway platforms where everyone is waiting for their train to arrive will be a thing of the past.

How much does it cost to ride SNAAP?
Each trip is $1 plus $.05 to $.25 per mile.

Who will own the SNAAP system?
Each SNAAP system will be owned as a franchise by local future builders, problem solvers, local business leaders, and public-private partnerships.

What onboard services are available in a SNAAP Pod?
SNAAP gives you the freedom to use your ride to be productive, entertained, or to just relax. No more juggling a conference call or text messages while you’re driving or riding in a crowded train. Similar to CarPlay, SNAAP Pods can easily integrate with your smartphone to listen to music, privately continue phone calls or conferences, and even add video safely to any conversation.

How can I ride SNAAP?
Riding SNAAP is quick and easy! SNAAP will take you directly to your destination. Choose from any portal in the network. No stops along the way unless you add one! Step 1 - Use your SNAAP App to select your destination. Step 2 - Step into your SNAAP Pod. Step 3 - Sit back and enjoy the ride.

Can I control the environment in the SNAAP Pod for my ride?
Yes! When you create your SNAAP Profile, you can customize your experience. Your SNAAP Pod will adjust to your profile settings: temperature, cabin lighting, preferred language, and more. Our SNAAP training will step you through the setup process so you will ride in comfort.
Is SNAAP accessible for wheelchairs and disabled or elderly riders?
Yes! Ensuring accessibility for all riders is a key focus for SNAAP. No steps, no ducking, no gaps. SNAAP Pods can provide transportation to all riders, regardless of their level of mobility.
Are SNAAP Pods safe?
Yes! Say goodbye to running out of gas, fender benders, and drunk drivers. A separate infrastructure, redundant and continuously monitored systems, and automated navigation will get you to your destination on time, every time.
How does SNAAP respond in an emergency situation?
Life happens, but SNAAP has you covered. The voice assistant is available to respond to medical emergencies. Instead of calling 911 and waiting for help to arrive, riders can request “take me to the hospital”, and we’ll take you right to the hospital. If stranded on the Ribbonway, SNAAP Pods can rescue each other by linking together to get to the closest Portal. If there is ever a reason you need to exit the Pod altogether, an emergency escape chute is available to deliver you safely to the ground.
How high will the elevated Ribbonway be off the ground?
The flexibility to elevate the Ribbonway is a key factor in the SNAAP Transportation model. The standard height is 16' above grade, but the Ribbonway can also be on-grade or any other height to best integrate with existing structures.
How will passengers access the elevated Ribbonway?
The RibbonWay will meet passengers where they are. No additional stairways or elevators are needed.
Will building a whole new infrastructure be prohibitively expensive?
Will building a whole new infrastructure be prohibitively expensive?
Will taxpayers fund SNAAP like they currently pay for roads, buses, and other infrastructure projects?
No! Because SNAAP generates more revenue than it costs to operate, municipalities will see positive cash flow from SNAAP. A percentage of rider fees will be allocated to a ‘hosting fee’ to generate local government revenues.
Who will own, maintain, and operate SNAAP?
The SNAAP mini-franchise model gives local companies and investors the opportunity to build, operate, and maintain each SNAAP system and customize it to best meet the needs of their communities.
